I'm Derek — I picked up disc golf at a local park in 2016 with one battered Aviar and never really stopped. Niche Site started as notes I kept for friends I was talking into trying the sport: which discs are actually worth buying when you're starting out, why a $150 driver you can't control isn't doing you any favors, and what gear holds up round after round versus what looks good in a photo and falls apart in a season.

Every guide and review on this site is written from actual rounds and actual bag experience, not spec sheets alone. When a disc or piece of gear doesn't hold up, I say so — the goal is to help you spend your money once, on gear that matches where you actually are in the game, not the biggest bag you can afford.
